Acolyte Guild, Altar Guild, & Lay Eucharistic Ministries
Acolyte Guild
Acolytes (altar servers) enrich our worship as crucifers, torchbearers, and altar assistants. This inter-generational group includes boys, girls, young adults, men, and women. Members of our acolyte guild also serve at many special services and observances.
Those interested in serving on the Acolyte Guild are invited to contact Rev. Johanna.
Altar Guild
Our Altar Guild teams devote many hours to preparing for our Eucharist services as well as for funerals, weddings, baptisms, and other special events. Volunteers also launder linens, cleanse vessels and participate in the Maundy Thursday cleaning of the Sanctuary. Men and women are welcome to join at any time.
If you are interested in serving on the Altar Guild, please contact Bethanne Colvin.
Lay Eucharistic Ministers
Lay Eucharistic Ministers assist during the Eucharist by administering the chalice to those sharing communion. Confirmed or received members of the Episcopal Church are eligible to become Lay Eucharistic Ministers. At Trinity, candidates are selected by the Rector and approved by the Vestry. They participate in a training workshop sponsored by the Diocese of Rhode Island and are then licensed by the Bishop to serve annually.
If you’re interested in joining this ministry, please speak with Rev. Johanna.
Lay Eucharistic Visitors
Lay Eucharistic Visitors are trained and licensed to take Holy Communion on a regular basis to homebound parishioners. Confirmed or received members of the Episcopal Church are eligible to become Lay Eucharistic Visitors. At Trinity, Lay Eucharistic Visitors serve under the direction of the Rector. Candidates participate in training sponsored by the Diocese of Rhode Island and are then licensed by the Bishop to serve annually.
