Calling All Crafters!

The Craft Table Team for the Trinity Christmas Bazaar is starting to think about our table and the silent auction for the upcoming year. This year, we’d love to have a burst of new, unique crafts to sell and we need your help!

If you’re a crafter, consider making one or two items and donating it to be sold at the bazaar. Here are some ideas that would be most welcome:

  • Woodworking Items – Items made to look vintage or made out of old “barn board” or pallet wood tend to sell well. Signs, home decor, Coffee or Wine Stations, etc.
  • Stocking Stuffers – Small items that can be sold in the $5-10 range that would appeal to kids
  • Hostess Gifts – To be sold in the $15-$25 range
  • Unique Tree Ornaments – It’d be fun to display a mini Christmas tree with all the ornaments for sale
  • Pet Toys, Clothing, and Costumes
  • Wreaths for Each Season – Non-perishable, please. Wreaths made with burlap or unique construction materials are quite popular
  • “Countdown Until Christmas” Displays – A table-top or wall-hanging object with 25 holes, doors, or bags that can be filled with notes, candy, or some other treat to be opened each day in December
  • Holiday Decor
  • Small Unique Planters or Pottery – No larger than a coffee mug, to be planted with succulents, air plants, etc. The rock planters sold very well at the greens table last year.
  • Crocheted and Knitted Items:
    • Novelty Hats for Kids – Hats with ears, eyes, or depicting famous characters
    • Adult Hats – Neutral shades of gray, beige, and heathered yarns sell best. Furry pompoms are currently quite popular.
    • Infinity Scarves
    • Pullover Sweaters or Cardigans – Best to make size large
    • Shawls – Modern-looking and neutral colors are popular
    • Unique or Decorative Afgans or Throws – We have found that everyday afghans often don’t sell or sell for far less money than the effort put into them. However, unique designs featuring sunflowers, cable knits, or patriotic themes do very well. Last year’s flag throw sold for over $100.
    • Novelty Blankets or Capes for Children
    • Coffee Cup Coozies
    • Hanging Towels for the Kitchen
  • Sewn Items
    • Travel Crafting or Coloring Kits for Children
    • Play Capes – Superhero-style capes for creative play
    • Doll Clothing – Sized for an 18″ Doll
    • Automobile Trash Sacks
    • Coffee Cup Coozies
    • Hanging Towels for the Kitchen
    • Pet Toys
    • Zippered Pouches – With a ring to attach to a backpack or bag. Sized to hold an ID, money, or cell phone
    • Zippered Bags – About the size for cosmetics
    • Upcycled Mittens – Made from old felted sweaters
    • Children’s Clothing – Various Sizes, modern tastes in fabric
    • Pajama Buddy Pillows – A square pillow made to look like an animal or monster with a pocket where the mouth should be so the child can store his/her pajamas in the pocket.
    • Dream Eaters – Small monster or animal-shaped stuffed animals with a zipper for a mouth. A child writes his/her bad dreams down and feeds them to the monster
    • Tooth Fairy Pillows/ Dolls – A doll or pillow with a small pocket to place a tooth in for the Tooth Fairy
    • Reading Pillow – A square pillow with a pocket to hold a child’s picture book for bedtime reading
    • Reusable Snack Bags
    • Handmade Dolls or Stuffed Animals
    • Handlebar Totes – A bag with straps that snap or Velcro around the handlebars of a scooter or mobility walker.
    • Hair Scrunchies
    • Sunglasses Cases

We regret that we are not in need of baby blankets, baby hats, or mittens this year as well as dishcloths or scrubbies. We have many “in stock” from the previous year.

Where and When?

Start now! The summertime is a great time to do crafts in the evenings or while sitting by the lake. When complete, please email crafts@trinitynorthscituate.org or reach out to Justin Greenough to arrange a socially distanced drop-off.
