Please plan on joining us for a celebration of the life of our dear friend and everyone’s “Nana June” or “Miss June” on Friday, March 28 at 9:00 am.

June Guglielmi

June Guglielmi, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, educator, and community leader, passed away peacefully at home on March 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 97 years old.

Born on August 21, 1927, in a small Connecticut town, June lived a life defined by love, service, and an unwavering dedication to family and education.

She is survived by her children, Susan Grufsted, Judy Frechette, Lisa Sargent, Leonard Guglielmi, and John Guglielmi. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony, and son, Anthony, Jr. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and her cherished niece, all of whom she adored and celebrated at every opportunity.

Growing up during the Great Depression, June witnessed profound changes throughout the 20th century. She graduated from the University of Michigan, pursued graduate studies at Boston University, and later earned a master’s degree in education from Rhode Island College. A passionate educator, she spent nearly 30 years teaching at North Scituate Elementary School, where she inspired generations of students. As President of the Teachers’ Union, she fiercely advocated for educators and students alike.

Beyond the classroom, June was deeply committed to public service. She spent 25 years on the Scituate School Committee, helping shape the town’s educational policies. A devoted member of Trinity Church, she served as Senior Warden and played a pivotal role in unifying Trinity Church with St. Alban’s Parish.

June had an adventurous spirit and a love for travel. From the Hawaiian Islands to European weddings, Caribbean cruises, and cherished Disney vacations, she embraced every opportunity to explore the world and create lasting memories with those she loved.

Above all, June’s greatest joy was her family. As the proud matriarch, she made every holiday magical, celebrated every milestone with boundless love, and instilled in her children and grandchildren the values of kindness, strength, and perseverance.

June’s legacy lives on in the many lives she touched with her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to making the world a better place. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday March 28th at 9:00 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 249 Danielson Pike, Scituate. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Calling hours Thursday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Winfield & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, 571 West Greenville Road, Scituate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Beacon Hospice.
