Reservoir 5k Walk/Run
We’re thrilled to bring back our annual “Walk the Reservoir” event supporting the Trinity Food Pantry. This year, the walk has been re-christened the “Milt Schumacher Memorial 5K Reservoir Walk” in honor of a beloved parish member who loved nature and walking/running.
This annual tradition is one of the few opportunities for the public to access the reservoir property and see this beautiful treasure close-up. The Providence Water Supply Board generously grants us special access for the event.
Date: Saturday, May 3, 2025
Location: Trinity Episcopal Church, 249 Danielson Pike, North Scituate, RI
Time:
- Check-In opens at 8am: Pick up your t-shirt and sign a waiver to walk on the Providence Water Supply Board property.
- Drop off a non-perishable food items to fill the Food Pantry shelves.
Items currently needed: Cereal, Soups (all varieties), Pasta, Tomato Sauce, Canned Vegetables, Canned Beans (baked, kidney, chickpeas), Peanut Butter, Pancake Mix, Syrup, Coffee, Tea, Jelly, and Canned Fruit. - The walk begins promptly at 10 am.
- Following the event, participants are invited into our church hall for refreshments, hot soup, fresh bread, and delicious sweets.

Participants need to register securely online before the event. T-shirts are guaranteed for the first 100 registrants. Simply choose your level of donation, your shirt size, add it to your cart, and check-out.
Be sure to register early – Registration closes on May 2nd.
Anyone not able to participate in the walk is encouraged to donate through this link to support the Food Pantry and honor Milt’s legacy.
Sponsorship
This is a great opportunity to show your support for the more than 150 people served by our food pantry each month. Our clients are from Scituate, Foster, Glocester, Johnston, and beyond. All money raised will go directly to Trinity’s Food Pantry.
Your tax-deductible donation will be acknowledged in communications about the event, on the event t-shirts, and prominently displayed on the day of the walk. We invite you to consider one of four suggested sponsorship levels:

| Big Cheese | $500 | Your large logo on the back of t-shirts + 3 free t-shirts |
| Apple of our Eye | $250 | Your medium logo on the back of t-shirts + 2 free t-shirts |
| A Good Egg | $100 | Your name on the back of t-shirts + 1 free t-shirt |
Donations in any amount and in-kind donations are always welcome, as well as non-perishable food donations to the food pantry. A collection bin will be available on the day of the event for food donations.
You may choose to make your sponsorship donation securely online or by check. Please make checks payable to “Trinity Episcopal Church” and include “Food Pantry Walk” on the memo line.
To include your company logo or name on the event t-shirts, please include artwork or a business card with your donation or email a logo file to walk@trinitynorthscituate.org.

About Milt Schumacher
Milt Schumacher, a long-time Situate resident, organized an event called “Run the Reservoir” for 10 years. During that time, the event raised thousands of dollars for Trinity’s Food Pantry.
One of Milt’s greatest passions was running, which he discovered later in life. He joined the Rhode Island Road runners and made a group of lifelong friends who would push each other to new achievements. He ran countless road races and frequently finishing at or near the top of his age group. He participated in races across the country, including the Boston Marathon.
Milt was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and sadly, passed away in 2024. This event is intended to honor his memory and continue his legacy
